Lanson Place Joins Global Earth Hour Movement to Champion Sustainability

Hong Kong, 21 March 2025 – Lanson Place is pleased to announce its participation in Earth Hour 2025, a global initiative led by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) that raises awareness about sustainable living and promotes energy conservation. On 22 March, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, all Lanson Place Personal Hotels and Residences will join individuals and organisations around the world in performing 60 minutes of positive actions that champion sustainability.

A Collective Effort for a Greener Future

Each property will contribute in its own way, from turning off non-essential lights and equipment to hosting sustainability events with guests. Guests and employees will also be encouraged to participate in Earth Hour in their rooms and workspaces, fostering a shared commitment to energy efficiency and climate action.

Sustainability at the Heart of Lanson Place

Lanson Place’s commitment to sustainability extends well beyond Earth Hour and remains a key pillar of the brand’s ethos. The brand has been actively reducing its environmental footprint through a range of initiatives, including:

  • Embracing a paperless experience with e-registration cards, e-invoices and a digital library of magazines and newspapers in guest rooms.
  • Implementing sustainable housekeeping practices including using eco-friendly products and changing towels and linens on alternate days unless requested otherwise.
  • Driving waste reduction and recycling programmes, including the use of the NORDAQ and Purezza water systems, the installation of in-room filtered water taps to minimise single-use plastics, recycling of coffee capsules and repurposing lightly used soap bars through charity partners.
  • Donating textiles for both recycling as well as upcycling.

In addition, Lanson Place has partnered with Green Hospitality, a not-for-profit collaborative platform. The partnership has been instrumental in developing group-wide sustainability strategies and identifying key areas for improvement, such as green procurement, energy-saving measures and reducing single-use plastics.

“Earth Hour is a powerful reminder of the collective impact that we can all make,” said Eugenia Lai, Director of Design and Technical Services at Lanson Place. “With a focus on achieving measurable goals such as reducing energy consumption, decreasing landfill waste and minimising single-use plastics, we aim to foster a culture of true environmental responsibility. Through our ongoing initiatives and our partnership with Green Hospitality, we are wholly committed to embedding sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations.”

By engaging both guests and employees in these efforts, Lanson Place strives for continuous improvement in its sustainability journey.
