While the fragrant flower of osmanthus can be found in a few Chinese desserts, it is the Shanghainese osmanthus cakes, or osmanthus puddings, that, well, takes the cake. Unlike the osmanthus puddings found in other regions, which are often clear jelly-like and do not have a sticky consistency, the Shanghainese variation is interestingly different.
